Our client is a specialty chemical manufacturing organization that has been growing in recent years.  So much so that they opened up a new manufacturing site in Michigan to compensate for new clients attributing to much of this growth.  They offer a team-oriented environment and provide their employees with excellent benefits.

They are currently looking to hire an experienced Chemical Process Engineer.  Main duties include:

• Work closely with the Engineering Manager to identify ways to optimize chemical processes, making operations more efficient and reducing costs
• Either find a way to improve the current PSM system in place, or completely create a new Process Safety Management system that will allow considerable improvements
• Use a metrics-driven approach to improve chemical equipment reliability
• Find ways to reduce machinery/equipment downtime
• Aid in capital equipment installation projects

Qualifications include:

• BS degree in Chemical Engineering
• At least 2-4 years of experience as a Process Engineer within a chemical plant
• Strong PSM experience
• Hands-on approach to process engineering (equipment maintenance/reliability)
