The Analyst II coordinates the administrative operations of the Enforcement Vehicle Technology Section (EVTS), including the preparation of internal and external correspondence, monthly overtime report, and other reports as required by Division and Executive Management. The incumbent provides in-depth analysis and critical review of projects, reports, and correspondence prepared by other members of the EVTS for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with procedure and policy, and acts as resource person for other members of the staff as to departmental policy on correspondence and publication formatting. The incumbent manages the EVTS’s Project Tracking Log, ensuring that all new projects are entered and distributed to appropriate staff. The Analyst II is responsible for functions relative to the EVTS's annual budget allocation of approximately 50 million dollars. This includes tracking expenditures through various methods using computer programs, databases, and spreadsheets. Acts as timekeeper for the Section; reviewing all time-sheets for completeness and adherence to departmental policy, and processing to Human Resources Section. Receives, reviews, and prioritizes all mail addressed to the commander. Assists in the preparation of confidential documents, injury reports, and personnel documents, as well as the maintenance of confidential personnel files.

The California Highway Patrol, Enforcement Vehicle Technology Section, has an opening for a permanent full-time Analyst II but will consider an Analyst I. The established working hours for this position are in-person 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
