Job Description

About LiteBox Studios

LiteBox Studios is a hybrid media production studio, event venue, and licensed creative space in Hartford's Parkville neighborhood. We produce original content, support client productions, livestream events, and support internal creative projects — from motorsports lifestyle media to immersive pop-up experiences. We're in a growth phase, building the operational backbone to match our creative ambitions. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape a studio's voice, systems, and output from the inside.

The role

We're looking for a Studio Manager & Content Editor who can hold two things at once: the operational clarity to keep production workflows organized and moving, and the creative instincts to turn raw footage into polished, platform-ready content. You'll be the connective tissue between shoots, assets, clients, and delivery — making sure nothing falls through the cracks and that a steady stream of content flows out of LiteBox every single week.

This is a multi-project environment. Current active work includes client media services including a studio kitchen, music recording studio, podcast production etc. as well as developing a motorsports lifestyle brand with track days at Lime Rock Park.

What you'll do

  • Manage end-to-end production workflow: intake, asset organization, version control, delivery, and archiving across all studio projects
  • Edit short- to mid-form content for social platforms (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn) for both LiteBox and clients
  • Support longer-form edits including event recaps, brand films, studio show segments, and project documentation
  • Build and maintain organized media asset libraries so footage is always findable, labeled, and handoff-ready
  • Coordinate with the founding team on production schedules, shot lists, and content calendars
  • Act as a light-touch production PA on shoot days — rolling gear, supporting framing and audio as needed
  • Develop simple SOPs for recurring tasks so the studio operates consistently even when capacity shifts
  • Contribute creatively to content direction — you'll have a real voice here, not just a to-do list

What we're looking for

  • 2–5 years in video production, content editing, or studio operations — agency, in-house, or independent
  • Strong editing skills with fluency in at least one major NLE (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve) and comfort with social-native formats
  • A demonstrated eye for social media creative — you understand what makes content stop the scroll and how to cut for platform behavior, not just polish
  • Experience organizing media assets at scale: folder structures, naming conventions, proxy workflows, or DAM tools
  • Comfort working across diverse content types — live event coverage, lifestyle/brand, interviews, narrative, BTS
  • Self-directed and highly organized; you close loops, flag blockers early, and don't need to be micromanaged
  • Genuinely excited by a studio that doesn't fit in one box — motorsports, immersive pop-ups, culinary media, and community events all coexist here

Bonus points

  • Motion graphics or basic animation (After Effects, CapCut, or similar)
  • Color grading experience beyond auto-correct
  • Familiarity with livestream production (OBS, vMix, Ecamm)
  • Audio mixing fundamentals for dialogue and music-driven content
  • Experience with motorsports, food/beverage, or experiential events content
  • Comfortable on camera when needed (not required, but welcome)

How to apply

Send the following to studio@thelitebox.com with the subject line Studio Manager – [Your Name] :

  • A brief note — no cover letter templates — telling us who you are, what kind of work you do best, and why LiteBox sounds like a fit
  • Links to 2–4 examples of your editing work — social content, short films, event recaps, brand videos, or anything that shows range. Submissions without portfolio links will not be reviewed.
  • Your resume or a brief work history
  • Your availability and preferred structure (full-time, part-time, contract-to-hire, hourly)

LiteBox Studios is an equal opportunity employer. We're actively building a team that reflects the creative community we serve.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply

Work Location: In person
