KBW is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for a Boston area client. This is an interim contract engagement focused on the GL and close activities - starting immediately.



Pay Rate: $40-60 /hour
Contract - 40 hours weekly
Hybrid - 2 days per week in office



Overview
A fast-growing, innovation-driven product company with a global footprint and high-volume operations is seeking a Sr. Staff Accountant to support its expanding accounting team. This is a contract role with potential for long-term opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Support general ledger (GL) activities and operational expense (OPEX) tracking
• Assist with month-end close processes
• Manage accruals and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Experience reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis (will prep as well but heavier on the review side)
• GAAP experience
• Support SOX compliance and internal controls
• Contribute to ad hoc accounting projects

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Public accounting experience preferred; consumer goods experience a plus
• Familiarity with Oracle and advanced Excel skills a plus
• Exposure to AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) is a plus
• Strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, and SOX controls
