Job Description

Careerscape is supporting a client opening for a Remote Typist. This role focuses on accurately typing, formatting, and entering documents and data across a variety of projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a fast and accurate typist, detail-oriented, and interested in building a career in data entry, administrative support, or documentation.

The Typist will input and format text, verify accuracy, and maintain organized digital records to keep information clean and accessible.

Responsibilities

  • Type, format, and edit documents accurately and efficiently
  • Enter data into spreadsheets, databases, and systems
  • Verify accuracy and correct errors before submission
  • Convert handwritten or scanned material into digital text
  • Maintain organized digital files and records
  • Follow formatting templates and style guidelines
  • Meet typing speed, accuracy, and deadline targets
  • Proofread completed work for quality
  • Handle confidential information responsibly
  • Use word-processing and productivity software
  • Flag discrepancies and follow up as needed
  • Perform additional typing and data entry tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 0-2 years of experience in typing, data entry, administrative, or related roles
  • Fast and accurate typing of 50 or more words per minute preferred
  • Strong grammar, spelling, and formatting skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
