Job Description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for education professionals experienced in curriculum design, instructional design, academic research, teaching, training, document understanding, multi-step instruction following, task authoring, and rubric development.

This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on education-domain benchmark task design, professional document understanding, structured instruction-following evaluation, ground truth output creation, rubric development, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will author complex tasks grounded in real-world workspace files, web research, and structured evaluation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Professionals in this role may contribute to:

Education Task Authoring

  • Design complex, multi-step tasks within the education domain
  • Create task prompts grounded in real-world workspace files such as academic materials, instructional documents, project specifications, technical materials, reports, or training resources
  • Develop tasks that test whether outputs correctly interpret documents, follow instructions, and produce precise structured responses
  • Ensure task design reflects realistic education, training, curriculum, or academic research workflows

Document Understanding & Instruction-Following Evaluation

  • Create tasks that require careful reading, synthesis, and interpretation of source materials
  • Incorporate web research, file-based reasoning, or structured data where appropriate
  • Test whether responses follow multi-step instructions accurately and produce outputs in the required format
  • Identify task structures that require genuine reasoning rather than simple information extraction

Ground Truth & Rubric Design

  • Define clear ground truth outputs for each authored task
  • Create objective evaluation rubrics that make response quality measurable and consistent
  • Review task clarity, answer precision, and scoring criteria before submission
  • Maintain accuracy, consistency, and strong attention to detail across submitted materials

Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in curriculum design, instructional design, academic research, teaching, training, or related education work
  • Experience creating assessments, learning materials, rubrics, research tasks, instructional resources, or structured academic content
  • Strong ability to design clear multi-step tasks with precise expected outputs
  • Comfort reviewing professional documents, academic materials, reports, and structured source files
  • Strong written communication skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment
  • Comfort following detailed project instructions and applying evaluation criteria consistently

Educational Background

  • Academic backgrounds in education, instructional design, curriculum development, learning sciences, academic research, teaching, training, educational technology, or related fields may be highly relevant
  • Professional experience in teaching, curriculum design, instructional content creation, academic research, or training program development may be especially valuable
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered depending on project needs

Nice to Have

  • Experience with benchmark design, evaluation design, assessment development, or rubric-based review
  • Familiarity with education technology, LMS platforms, academic research workflows, or structured learning content
  • Experience creating tasks that involve documents, web research, spreadsheets, reports, or structured outputs
  • Ability to evaluate both content accuracy and instruction-following quality
  • Availability for approximately 15–20 hours per week depending on project scope

Why This Opportunity

  • Apply education, curriculum, teaching, and research expertise to structured remote consulting work
  • Contribute to high-quality education benchmark task design, document understanding evaluation, and rubric development
  • Work on flexible assignments aligned with your instructional design, academic research, teaching, or training background
  • Use your education-domain judgment to create precise, realistic, multi-step evaluation tasks
  • Remote structure with competitive hourly compensation

Contract Details

  • Independent contractor role
  • Fully remote with flexible scheduling
  • Eligible professionals may be based in approved project locations depending on project needs
  • Expected commitment of approximately 15–20 hours per week depending on project availability
  • Competitive rates between $40–$60 per hour depending on expertise and project scope
  • Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performance
  • Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution
