Location: Mother Baby

Schedule: 24 Hours (Nights / Every Other Weekend)

ABOUT THE MATERNAL CHILD HEALTH/MOTHER BABY NURSING DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER:

Registered Nurses for the Post-Partum Unit and Newborn Nursery provide couplet care to patients that have recently delivered in our Labor & Delivery unit.  As a Magnet recognized organization, these nurses provide care to the whole family, ensuring the first few days of care have set the family up for success.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As an RN in the Maternal Child Health/Mother Baby Department , you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver nursing care in the Maternal Child Health/Mother Baby Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients

• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families

• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues

• Update and manage patient records

• Enter and interpret computerized data/information

• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization

• Assist the leadership team as needed in  quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or the ability to obtain MA RN licensure prior to your start date

• 1+ years of Mother Baby/Postpartum experience required

• Certification in basic life support (BLS)

• Advanced Cardiac Life support ( ACLS) certification required in certain units

• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years

• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities

• Basic computer proficiency

• Fluency in another language a plus

NursingMCH  - Maternal Child Health/Mother Baby/Labor and Delivery

Compensation Range:

$38.05- $75.33

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
