Job Description

Temp Phlebotomist.

This overnight Phlebotomist role requires working weekends and holidays , with assignments rotating every other weekend. During the assignment period, one holiday shift will be scheduled for July 4 or Labor Day .

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections for patients of all ages.
• Collect specimens from Emergency Department and inpatient units according to priority.
• Verify patient identification and accurately label specimens at the bedside.
• Handle and transport specimens in accordance with laboratory policies.
• Communicate effectively with nursing and laboratory staff regarding delays or issues.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of recent hospital-based phlebotomy experience.
• Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary collections.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume overnight environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• National phlebotomy certification.
• Previous Emergency Department experience.

Additional Requirements:

• Availability to work weekends and holidays is mandatory.
• Flexibility to float between Emergency Department and inpatient units as needed.
