OSP Project Manager 1
Department: Outside Plant
Reports To: OSP Project Manager 2  

POSITION SUMMARY 

The OSP Project Manager Level 1 is an entry-level role designed for professionals early in their telecommunications or construction project management careers. This position is responsible for assisting in the coordination and execution of smaller-scale fiber optic infrastructure projects. Under the close guidance of senior project managers, the Level 1 PM helps ensure projects are delivered on time and in compliance with safety and quality standards. We are currently hiring 1 open position.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Assist in identification and coordination of OSP engineering/construction firms and support bid/vendor selection processes 
  • Assist in coordinating network maintenance and relocation activities 
  • Maintain and update network maps in geospatial project management systems 
  • Support procurement of materials and optics components 
  • Maintain fiber engineering documentation, including splicing requirements and updates 
  • Assist with permitting coordination with local/state/federal agencies 
  • Participate in site walks with customers and vendors as needed 
  • Provide support for service delivery functions, including customer updates, site coordination, and closeout documentation 
  • Assist with preparation of build cost estimates for the sales team 
  • Support project scheduling, coordination of project meetings, and documentation of action items

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 1-2 years experience in fiber network engineering, construction, or project coordination 
  • Basic understanding of utility construction and permitting processes 
  • Ability to support project schedules and track tasks to completion 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills 
  • Basic understanding of fiber network design and documentation 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record 
  • Proficiency in Google Suite 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Exposure to GIS mapping tools preferred 

JOB DETAILS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • This role requires regular travel to job sites within assigned markets (typically 1–3 regions). 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. 
  • This is a nonexempt position. 
  • This is a full-time position. 
  • This is not a remote position; regular on-site presence is required. 
  • The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with occasional evening or weekend availability as needed to support field activities or project deadlines. 
  • This position requires the ability to walk through and inspect outdoor construction sites, which may include uneven terrain, active work zones, and various weather conditions. 
  • This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift or carry light materials and equipment (up to 25 pounds). 
  • This position may also require the use of a computer and other office equipment for administrative tasks, such as scheduling, documentation, and communication. 
  • The ability to perform fine motor tasks and sit at a desk for moderate periods of time is required during planning and reporting phases.
