We are seeking compassionate, dedicated individuals or families to welcome an adult with a disability into their home. As an independent contractor, you will work closely with our team to provide person-centered care and enhance each individual’s quality of life.

Description

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Living Support: Assist with personal care, meal planning/preparation, medication reminders, and household tasks.
• Skill Building: Encourage independence by helping individuals develop and practice life skills (e.g., budgeting, cooking, using technology).
• Community Integration: Plan and participate in community outings and social activities, fostering genuine connections and inclusion.
• Advocacy & Safety: Ensure the individual’s safety, respect their rights, and advocate for their interests within the home and community.
• Collaboration: Communicate regularly with AGL staff and participate in team meetings to align on care plans and goals.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous caregiving or direct support experience is preferred but not required; AGL offers training and ongoing support.
• Living Space: Must be able to provide a safe, welcoming home environment for the individual(s) you support.
• Skills: Strong communication, empathy, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Compliance: Must pass all required background checks and comply with Medicaid and Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging regulations.
• Transportation: Reliable transportation for medical appointments, errands, and community activities.
