We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant General Manager to help lead our front-of-house team and support the daily operations of the restaurant.
Position SummaryThe Assistant General Manager plays a key leadership role in the day-to-day operations of Alba Los Angeles. Working closely with the General Manager and Executive Chef, the AGM helps ensure a seamless guest experience, strong team culture, and smooth service execution.
This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives on the floor, leads with hospitality, and is passionate about developing teams and delivering exceptional dining experiences in a high-volume, upscale environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations
Lead by example on the floor to ensure warm, attentive, and professional guest service
Train, mentor, and develop front-of-house team members to maintain Alba’s hospitality standards
Monitor reservations, guest flow, and service pacing throughout each shift
Assist in managing staffing levels, scheduling, and labor costs
Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen leadership to ensure seamless FOH and BOH communication
Handle guest relations and resolve issues quickly and professionally
Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing team members
Support inventory management and ordering processes
Maintain operational standards including opening and closing procedures
Help implement systems and processes that improve efficiency and service consistency
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations
Step in to lead service and operational decision-making in the absence of the General Manager
6+ years of restaurant experience , including 2–3 years in a management role in a full-service restaurant
Experience in high-volume, upscale dining environments preferred
Strong leadership presence and ability to motivate and develop teams
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong understanding of hospitality and guest-focused service standards
Experience supporting labor management, scheduling, and operational systems
Familiarity with reservation and POS systems such as SevenRooms, Toast, Aloha, or similar platforms
Passion for food, wine, and hospitality
